The types of food we have been eating (just for you Paige E)

Paige has asked what we have been eating.

Well we have eaten a lot of pasta (lasagne, spaghetti, tortellini, ravioli and others) and pizza (Margueritas and salami ones mostly)and risotto in Italy. About a third of the nights. We also have had garlic bread and bruschetta in Italy.
But we also had lots of normal meals in and out such as steak or chicken and all the vegetables. Lots of different foods from the village markets. Lots of local hams in Italy and now France.
We have eaten all different fruits including apricots off the tree in Tuscany by our pool, heaps of cherries(fancy eating cherries in June and July!), rockmelons, watermelons (yum), strawberries, apples, oranges etc. The fruit was fab in Italy, all of it Italian grown.

Here in France we have been having normal meals like steak and veg and chicken and veg as well as crepes, pretzels and bagels. Similar when we were in Germany.
Mum and dad had pheasant liver and wild boar salami and salmon from Norway. Dad even had reindeer steak when he was in Finland (we can’t believe he could eat Rudolph’s friends).
We have had Maccas about 5 times in Europe. It is very similar but called different things to Australia. The prices are much the same but the soft serve ice-cream is 90 cents Euro.
We are planning to try snails (escargot) soon (or at least dad wants us to). Apparently the French don’t do frogs legs much now because frogs are now protected in France. They import their frogs from other countries like Thailand for those who want frogs legs on the menu. We might pass on that we think.
Of course we have had heaps of ice-cream especially gelati (strachiotella is a favourite (vanilla with choc flakes through it), as well as chocolato, mint, strawberry and lemon).
Nutella on toast is Hollys’ fav breaky.
Here is a pic of tonight’s dinner and also of a maccas menu in Italy.
See ya!!

P.S - Since starting this post we can add another thing to the menu...snails!! Yum. Well, Dad and our friends Ben and Lavina who are also here in the French Alps said they were nice. Us girls and Mum thought we would wait to see how they were the next morning before thinking about trying them. xx
