The Last Day/Supper in Tuscany - Sunday 24 June

The Last Day/Supper in Tuscany - Sunday 24 June

Yesterday we spent the day at our farmhouse, Il Paganello. It was our last day and we wanted to enjoy the pool and our home away from home. In the evening we went out to a dinner that is run by a charity organisation called "Misericordia". (The Misericoria organisation offers economic/financial advice and medical appointment transportation to the elders of the community).

The restaurant was in Barbarino Val de Elsa in a hilltop park. It was in a large pergola area with plastic tables and chairs. It was great. When we got there we looked at the menus and decided on our order. There was lots of yummy things and they all were homemade.

The knives and forks came in these cute paper bags.
Elodie and Holly ordered spaghetti bolognese and coke. Erin ordered marguarita pizza and coke. It took a while for us to get our orders but it was worth the wait!! Elodie thought the pasta was awesome and Holly had never tasted homemade pasta as good as that (apart from mums). Erin thought that the pizza was really delicious and yummy!! We had a mix up with the drinks and got one (uno) drink instead of three (tre)! Then Dad explained to the people that we ordered three cokes. Then they brought two (due) more cokes out. But dad got two beers instead of one. Fixing that really tested our Italian.
After we finished dinner we watched the soccer ( England v Italy). No-one scored while we were there but Italy was so close!! They had a little TV set up and it seemed like many families were there to socialise and support the work of the charity and watch the soccer. The whole meal and drinks only cost 37euro which was really cheap, a shame we only found it on our last night. It was a great local experience.
Then we went and had a look at the local soccer fields then we went home. We had a fun night. Erin's favourite part was the whole thing. Elodie's favourite thing was the food and Holly's favourite thing was the pasta!

We are so sad to be leaving beautiful, relaxing Tuscany tomorrow. We love it. But the rest of our journey is just about to start.
